Paul's love of people, along with his cheeky, friendly banter has made his late night show a real appointment to listen.

However, while Paul may be stuck in the radio studio every night, Dusty, the programme's official mascot has been travelling the world!

Listeners have sent in pictures of Dusty as far afield as Australia and the USA - have a click through the gallery below.

Ever since he started making microphones out of cardboard tubes and introducing records on an old Dansette at the age of eight, it was obvious that Paul was destined to work in radio.

By the age of 13 Paul had started his own mobile disco, along with his own radio station, which was piped into his parents house via cables from the studio he built in the shed!

So, this was the start of the now famous Paul Miller Show, and some of those early 'shed' recordings still exist, although Paul has them under lock and key!

In addition to the shed, Paul also joined a local Hospital Radio station, and guess which show he eventually presented ... yes, the late show.

On leaving College, Paul worked as a DJ and compere - his personality and love for the music shone through and within a short space of time Paul was working in some very prestigious London nightclubs.

After several years of spinning the discs seven nights a week, Paul felt that he needed a break, and so decided to do something totally different. He trained as a croupier, spending some time wearing a posh uniform in a London casino.

Paul soon realised it was radio that he really wanted to do, and so left the world of Roulette and Blackjack behind him and was offered work in commercial radio. He soon moved to the BBC, where at first he worked as a Programme Assistant, before moving onto presenting.

Paul presented a variety of shows on BBC Radio Solent, before being offered the weekday Late Show back in 1999, which Paul describes as the best show on radio:  "Late night radio is very special, and allows you to develop a relationship with the listener like no other."

When Paul isn't on the radio, he likes to spend time listening to music (especially soul music for which he has a particular passion), travelling, and socialising with friends.

Occasionally Paul throws caution to the wind and invites the listeners to compile a 'bottom 20'.  Here's the latest chart - the bottom 20 summer holiday songs!
