The Good Life

Join Georgie Windsor for two hours of ideas for your home and garden - all with an environmentally friendly approach. The show has everything for the green-fingered and the green-minded.

Join Georgie Windsor for a slice of The Good Life every Sunday lunchtime. It's packed to the borders with ideas for your garden and home.

Discover what practical steps you can take to help save the environment...and sometimes even your pocket. Each week Georgie uncovers what's behind some of the climate change headlines.

Georgie is regularly joined by one of our horticultural heroes to answer all your gardening questions - Brian Kidd, previously a Portsmouth Parks Environment Officer for almost 50 years, Andy McIndoe, a regular RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold winner for Hilliers in Romsey, Alan Edmunson, chief garden designer with Bowercot Garden Designs in Lymington and freelance horticulturist David Hurrion.

If you have a question for the team call during the show or email thegoodlife@bbc.co.uk. It's the best gardening advice that money can't buy!

We don't just talk about cleaning up the environment either, we practise what we preach!

Rubbish Rescue is an on-air recycling community where people with items they no longer want are put in touch with people who can give them a new lease of life.

It's all about doing something for nothing, because no money is involved - in fact, not a penny is exchanged.

There's everything from garden shredders to baby grand pianos and bread makers to gold fish. Our listeners are saving the South from drowning under a sea of landfill every week.

Presenting The Good Life is right up Georgie's street.  Along with husband Pete, she has had her own allotment for over three years and is a convert to the joys of 'growing your own'.

"It began with some potatoes," says Georgie. "The first year was just potatoes and not much else, and then last year we got the poly-tunnel, we got the chickens and it started in earnest!"

Live the Good Life - every Sunday from 12-2pm
