Charlie's broadcasting career started just five years ago when a friend entered her for the BBC Talent competition and she came in the final four for the South East Region - life begins at 40 as they say! ![]() Min with India on her first birthday She started with BBC Southern Counties Radio as a reporter at Police Motorway Control - keeping the boys in blue in check, watching the rush hour build up and helping people avoid the jams. Charlie also presented the evening show on BBC Radio Solent for 18 months - doing everything from taking traffic reports from truckers to speaking to women in states of high anxiety in the middle of arranging dinner parties. She has moved to Southampton to present BBC Radio Solent's afternoon programme. Charlie has a daughter called Min and is now a completely besotted Granny to India Grace Sparkle Hope - who was born in October 2006. She is also qualified as a Swedish Massage Therapist!
