People quite often wonder what Julian Clegg is really like, to be honest what you hear is what you get. On BBC Radio Solent you have to be who you are or you'll exhaust yourself putting on a persona. Not that Julian takes things easy on air, the breakfast show is notoriously one of the most demanding, technically and journalistically. His first break was with BBC Local Radio in Sussex but he moved back to his roots to join BBC Radio Solent and set up house a few miles from his boyhood home near New Milton. Julian’s programme is a fast moving mix of local, national and international news, topical debate, sport, travel news and weather information. Through its regular features like The Solent Sea Dog, Julian’s People, Best Buys and Solent Surfers, Julian’s show has introduced a range of characters who the South have taken to their hearts. At the same time the show has become an unrivalled source of local information on community events, consumer issues, pets, health and fitness and the maritime life of the south coast. A hallmark is the Newsmaker line, on which listeners set the agenda with their own stories of bureaucratic bungling and consumer rip-offs. Listen to Julian every weekday morning from 6.30-9am. |
