Coast - Portsmouth
Aptly named after a pirate, the nautical city of Portsmouth would have been a very different place for a stroll a few years ago - heaving with rowdy sailors and soliders, where 18th century superstar Horatio Nelson would have been a familiar face.
From the sinking of Henry VIII's flagship the Mary Rose, naval bigwig, Horatio Nelson's famed departure for the Battle of Trafalgar on HMS Victory to a group of nude bathers kicking off a full-on battle on Southsea seafront - Portsmouth's been far from a quiet place throughout history!
