Development

There are development standards for the BBC's internal and external websites. The BBC's external web presence is known as bbc.co.uk.

Please see the Future Media Guidelines site for information about development standards for bbc.co.uk sites.

Information for external parties interested in tendering for bbc.co.uk commissions can be found in the Production Handbook.



Policy Statements

There are no policy statements specific to Development. The following is a list of useful, related policies from other areas of DQ.

The main Delivering Quality policies always apply.

Continuity Policy Ref 04
All new developments must consider the impact on, and the risk to, the BBCs business continuity plans.

Diversity Policy Ref 01
All Internet and Intranet sites must be compliant with BETSIE

Applications Policy Ref 03
All developments by, and purchases from, 3rd parties must have a signed approved, legal agreement. See Law section.

Applications Policy Ref 05
Where a system is a bespoke development it must adhere to the development standards in Delivering Quality.

Applications Policy Ref 06
Integration testing must be carried out on all new applications and upgrades to existing applications.

BBCi Policy Ref 01
All mailing lists to be used on bbc.co.uk must follow the standard as described in the Mailing List Standard.
