According to Peter Falla, the marketing director for the Culture and Leisure department "people will be able to perform on the street and put out a hat to collect some money for their performance" as part of the busking scheme. He added that 2009 "is very much a trial period" and that "a set of guidelines and code of practice have been confirmed". Anyone wishing to busk has to register at the Guernsey Information Centre and there will be a very informal interview with members of the music sub-committee of the Guernsey Arts Commission. ![]() Mick Le Huray playing at Beach Life 2009 Peter said that any type of acts will be able to apply to perform, from jugglers to musicians and that the aim was to "enhance the streets of St Peter Port". Father and son musical duo Mick and Paul Le Huray have busked in town in the past. Mick said: "I'm very pleased to see it allowed, the town needs more energy... it adds to the atmosphere." He added: "Maybe [the application process] is a little bureaucratic, but I can understand the attitude to it" and Paul agreed the application process was "not a bad idea".
