GBG Volume Two

Twist Records and the Guernsey Arts Commission have finalised the list of artists to appear on the local music compilation GBG Volume Two.

In 2005 local record label Twist released a CD titled GBG Volume One. It featured a series of one off recordings by local bands and offered a taste of what Guernsey's music scene offered at the time.

That first album featured the likes of Thee Jenerators, Hobo Sounds, Goldfish Don't Bounce and The Bensons and provided a way for people who did not attend local gigs, or did not live on the island, to hear music written, played and recorded by local artists.

In early 2009 The Guernsey Art Commission's music sub-committee and Twist began looking to repeat the exercise by collecting music from as many Bailiwick based artists as possible.

In October they released the list of artists appearing on the record, which is:

Alias
Teaspoonriverneck
Asylum Seekas
My Last Victory
The Johndoes
About An Hour
Jamie-Lee
The Nelkons
Wes Coombes
D3uce
Jodie Webber
Archaeotery X
The Tin Soldiers
Herd Deep
Mike Mienke
Five Across The Eyes
Rawcuz Crowzz
Theo Leworthy
The Usual Suspects
Joe Byrne
The Swallows

It is hoped by that the CD will be released early in 2010 and Mark Le Gallez of Twist Records said: "It is not my job to feed delusions or dash hopes. I will leave that to music biz folks like Simon Cowell this is an art project and all this music is valid and deserves attention" and he said that everyone who sent in a track is on the album.
