From then on she has been writing music but in the late 1990s found her songs started to include what she described as "an expression of what I believe". She added: "My belief and faith are so much a part of who I am that naturally comes out." Her first full scale recording, Take My Hand, was included on a compilation of Christian music titled Release 7, which came out in April 2009. Jo's path to her faith began as a child as she was raised in a Christian home, but in her teens she questioned "why do I believe what I was brought up to believe?" realising that she could have been brought up to believe any faith, but did that make it true? It was during this time of seeking and questioning that Jo decided for herself that the God in the bible who she believed in was real and true and made a decision to "accept Jesus into her heart". Following inclusion on the Release 7 compilation Jo hopes to record an EP of original music in early 2010 along with a song for a similar compilation.
