School Report 2009: La Mare de Carteret

La Mare de Carteret High School students were involved in School Report on Thursday 26 March 2009.

Students across Britain were given the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience as part of BBC News School Report.

La Mare de Carteret pupils were joined by BBC Guernsey's Jim Cathcart, Gary Burgess and Laura Simpson to write, prepare and record their own news bulletin.

The day was the result of weeks of preparations in English lessons - looking at what makes a news story, where news comes from, how to write news and how to prioritise stories.

BBC Guernsey built a radio studio in one of the classrooms and the students produced and presented their own bulletin including news, sport, travel and weather.
