Garden at Mille Fleurs

A garden tucked away in a St Peter's Valley has got world wide exposure.

David and Jane Russell's garden at their house Mille Fleurs was featured in a book "Inspirational Gardens of the World" published in late 2008.

Their garden in St Pierre du Bois was among sixty in the book including gardens in Bangkok, Barbados and Lanzarote all with tips from the owners on how to recreate the looks they've created.

"People go to gardens for different reasons, I go for ideas," said Jane.

On their two and a half acres they have set up different areas which include a wildlife area with indigenous trees, a tropical area, a jungle area with bananas and a Mediterranean area.

Jane said, "We hope it helps put Guernsey and St Peters on the world botanical map."
