In October 2008 the St Peter Port constables announced plans for the licensing of street entertainment throughout the town, including, amongst other things, live music. People's views seemed to be split as to whether this would be a good idea with some saying that it would "brighten the place up" and add a nice atmosphere to area, while others argued that street entertainers "can be annoying". Help playing audio/video Of course in the run up to Christmas and during the Town Carnival St Peter Port comes alive with street performers, including local duo Mick and Paul Le Huray. Mick said that it would be a "good idea and liven the place up" and that regulating busking could act as a good form of "quality control". Paul agreed and said, "It's a shame there isn't more opportunity", and Mick added "It's great fun (for the musicians) and something different to playing in pubs".
