Tora Bora at the Fermain Tavern
Covering everything from blues and hard rock to Latin inspired originals Tora Bora have been a fixture of local music for the best part of a decade.
Who Are They?
Pete Le Maitre: Lead vocals and bass
Pete and Micky
Micky Brehaut: Lead guitar
Geoff Brehaut: Rhythm & slide guitars and backing vocals
Geoff Denton: Drums
Tora Bora started out in summer 2001, and despite a couple of breaks and numerous personnel changes they say they are "as enthusiastic about our music as ever."
The nucleus of the band has always revolved around the vocals and guitar interplay between Pete, Mick & Geoff who are founder members with drummer Geoff Denton having joined more recently.
The band started out originally as a blues band, but now cover many styles, including blues rock, hard rock, country rock and even some Latin inspired self-penned material.
The band intend to continue playing, writing more original songs, and are thinking about recording in the near future.
But, most of all, its about getting together in their rehearsal room out west and having fun.
Their Favourite Gig
Geoff Brehaut said: "I guess our top gig has to be supporting Uriah Heep when they played at Beau Sejour in 2004.
"However we've played many local venues, including The Doghouse, Fermain Tavern, the now defunct Vazon Bay, Venture Inn, Greenman Show, Rocquaine Regatta and Sark."
