What do I have to offer?

I have a logical and creative mind and will bring new ideas and solutions to solve the many problems facing Guernsey.

I have been a Douzenier since 2002 - the traditional path for those seeking election as a People's Deputy.

I have extensive experience in the UK computer and finance industries implementing business systems all of which were delivered on-time and within budget. No unplanned overspends!  In addition I have public sector, business administration and journalism experience locally.

I have the time and the energy to be a full-time Deputy.  I have no business interests and thus no conflicts of interest.

In my hobby of chess I have held world-level positions - recently finalising a £3.4 million sponsorship agreement which will see 250,000 sets going to UK schools entirely free of charge.

Other interests include Jubilee Hospital Radio where I'm Vice-Chairman and the WEA where I have been both a lecturer and committee member.  I've also been Chairman of Guernsey Consumer Group.

I cannot believe 'Zero-Ten' was necessary or that it is working. We now lack the funds to maintain and improve our excellent Health and Education services. We are even told that cuts will be necessary. New taxes to fund services are bound to affect pensioners and the lower paid. If elected I will take up the cause of those worst affected.

The cost of energy in all its forms will rise massively as oil supplies dwindle with prices going through the roof. We need to sign up to renewable forms of energy while there is still time.

If elected on 23rd April I will listen to you, work for you and put you, the people of Guernsey, first.
