Walks in GuernseyYou are in: Guernsey > Nature > Walks in Guernsey > Icart Walk ![]() The view over Siant's Bay from Icart. Icart WalkEddie headed out the Icart headland and went in search of Victor Hugo's old country residence. This walk starts out from the Icart car park, by the tea rooms, and then heads back along the road towards the Icart Hotel. Soon after passing the hotel, on the other side of the road, you will come to a stone arch that was the entrance to Victor Hugo's house. ![]() The entrance to Victor Hugo's house. The site is now derelict but has also been a hotel in the past and is thought to be haunted by the ghost of a child and the hotel even had guests who would come specifically to see or hear the ghosts. From the arch you can head down a path alongside the property which lead down to the cliff path where you could either head down to Saints Bay or back around to Icart, which is the path this walk takes. Along this section of the walk the path opens up to allow views along the south coast all the way to Plienmont and back towards Jerbourg. Rounding the headland will bring you back to the car park and the starting point of the walk.
