Atlantic artist wins Mourant Prize
Guernsey artist Jocelyn Day has been awarded the 2007 Mourant Artist of the Year for her painting Mission Atlantic.
The entrants in the 2007 Artist of the Year award, which were on display at the airport in December 2007 and January 2008, included a range of pieces from paintings to photographs to drawings.
The shortlist was drawn up by a panel of judges including Eric Snell chaired the judges who included local artist Peter Le Vasseur, Guernsey Press' Shaun Shackleton, BBC Guernsey's Sue Coryndon, Wallace Barnaby's Ian Langlois and Mourant's Darren Bacon and Gary Mauger.

The public then voted for the overall winner from the short list of 13 and they chose Jocelyn Day as Artist of the Year for her painting Mission Atlantic. She received a prize of £1000 which she donated to charity.
