A St Peter Port insurance broker has offered its helps with a prickly problem, Network Insurance is donating all its shredded paperwork to Guernsey’s Hedgehog Rescue Centre to provide bedding for its residents. "As a business we have a policy of supporting environmental initiatives and in the office we reduce, re-use and recycle as much as possible. Turning our wastepaper into something useful for wild animals in need seems a win-win idea," said Managing Director Douglas Goater. ![]() Dawn Robin with Rosie the Hedgehog. Since it was founded in 2003 the Rescue Centre has guaranteed a warm and caring environment for hundreds of sick, blind and orphaned hedgehogs and hoglets. At the moment 48 are in residence. In 2006 the Centre cared for 365 of the creatures. "Now that we have become so well known people are regularly bringing us these lovable creatures, many in a very sad state who would certainly die without food and a warm hutch.
