The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites Scheduled bus faresThere is a flat fare of 60p for all journeys of any distance on all routes. Free Travel For Local OAP'sIf you're an OAP and live in Guernsey or Alderney then you get free travel on the buses but remember some sort of identification to show the driver. Bus Stops and "Hail and Ride"You can board the buses at any of the bus stops around the Island. These are either painted on the road or indicated by the bus stop signs on poles. Alternatively, you can 'hail' a bus and, provided it is safe, the driver will stop to pick you up (hail and ride does not operate in the Town or Bridge area).
