About BBC Greek
The Greek Service of the BBC aims to provide a distinctive, authoritative, reliable and dispassionate news and current affairs programme offer for customers in Greece and Cyprus and amongst the Greek speaking diaspora.
Fully in line with the ethos and editorial integrity of the BBC it will provide information and analysis reflecting major world and regional events.
All BBC World Service programmes in Greek can be heard on FM on the frequencies of local stations with whom the Greek Service has re-broadcasting agreements and Online.
Our principal re-broadcasting partner is SKAI 100.3 FM in Greece.
The Greek Service also provides programmes to Greek Public Radio (ERA) and a number of private local stations in Greece.
The Greek Service no longer broadcasts on Short Wave.
The Greek Service broadcasts four daily 15' min. programmes of international and regional news and current affairs at 0600, 1300, 1405 and 1615 from Monday to Friday and at 1300 (UK time) on Saturdays and Sundays.
We also broadcast daily a series of short news bulletins almost every hour on the hour from 0500-1700 (UK time) with international news and current affairs.
The Greek Service currently has 14 full-time producers and regular freelance contributors, all based in Bush House in London.
