| If
you drink and drive you are making a huge mistake. By the time
you realize it , it will be too late. I indeed think Kev's idea
is great because it helps people to understand why drinking
and driving is not such a good idea.

have studied the causes and effects of drink driving for my
GCSEs and am appalled that not enough is being done to stop
it.

| The
obvious answer to drink driving is to have regular, nighttime
public transport - such as mini-buses - running every 10 /15
mins through the villages and towns of rural Gloucestershire.
People drink and drive as they feel they have no choice - pubs
are not in walking distance and most people feel they can't
be in a pub without having at least one pint. I am for making
any drinking and driving at all illegal.

| I
live in birmingham and frequently find myself driving out into
the country with my family to enjoy a nice meal at a country
pub.I work for a major brewing company and am very partial to
a large amount of alcohol when i go out. I do not however drink
at all when i know that i am going to drive and i feel that
the only way to make the roads safer for everyone is to make
the drink drive limit absolutley zero thus eliminating the temptation
for people to drink and drive because while some alcohol is
allowed people will always test the boundaries!

It
took a two year ban in 1997 to bring me to my senses. Fortunately
I was not involved in an accident neither did I hurt any third
party - only myself.
I
now no longer drink and drive - the mere thought of getting
behind the wheel of a car with even the smallest trace of
alcohol (i.e.,free samples in Supermarkets) literally scares
the hell out of me.
Therefore,
I endorse the punishments delivered by the courts and suggest
that longer periods and heavier fines may start to wake up
wayward drivers.

I have to agree with the views of your other readers.
I have just passed my test and this has alerted me even more
to the dangers of drinking and driving.
I
think we all should praise Kelvin for his good work and wish
him every success for the future.
Should
anything similar happen to me I will ensure I set up a website
of equal value.

Kevin is a shining example of how to turn a negative situation
around into be a positive one. Checking his website takes the
raffle element out of whether you keep your licence or if you're
over the limit.com. If there were more Kevins in the world it
would be a safer place. |

I think Kevin is a shining example. He comitted a crime and
has been punished for it, but instead of sitting on his backside
and doing nothing about it he had a pro-active idea to help
other people. If he has managed to stop one single person from
drink driving he has done a brilliant job. Congratulations Kevin!!

Isn't it always the case that the best ideas are the simplest:
Great website! Long gone are the days that I was nick-named
"drink-drive Clive" by my mates. Kev's great, I wish he was
my boyfriend. |

I feel without doubt there should be a no drinking and driving
law in the UK - as in Scandinavia. Thank you for your info on
"safe levels" - I will inform others and hope they take the
advice of not drinking at all before driving. |

The website Kev has produced is very useful and even eye opening,
hopefully many people will use it to make the roads a safer
place.... I think Kev is a hero !!! |

Thumbs up to young Kevin. This a great example of a young man
learning his lesson the hard way. He has had the initiative
to help prevent others finding themselves in the same hole.
Well done Kevin, I will definately be making use of the site
in the future. |

I
think it is very exciting and commendable that Kevin has taken
the initiative to develop this website.
Like
Kevin, I have probably been over the limit the next day and
every morning I check the site for an approximate timing to
see whether it is OK.
I
do appreciate this is a guide and only use it roughly. I would
personally like to congratulate Kevin again and wish him well
for the future.

It's
great to see that the message is finally getting across. Kevin
was a very lucky boy not to be in more trouble. Right on mate!

It's
not rocket science to realise that if you go on a bender of
an evening you will be over the limit next day.
Sadly,
the binge drinking culture that is now endemic among young
women as well as mean is bound to end in more road accidents
and drink-drive convictions.
I
commend the efforts of road safety campaigners, and the fact
that Kevin Smith has done something practical as a result
of his conviction, but what really needs to change is the
idea that drinking your face off of a night is the only way
to have a good time. And I fear that won't happen in the near
future.
