Bryan
and Helena Panks both studied fine art at what is now the University
of Gloucestershire. Since leaving art college Bryan has been a portrait
artist, T-shirt designer, book illustrator and poster designer.

Bryan
and Helena's most recent work is in the field of Children's television
where he illustrated both the backgrounds and characters for Channel
4 Television's character 'Max Bear'.
But
now the Stroud-based animators have made an altogether new and different
cartoon - Tom's Diner.
Tom's
Diner
Tom
Plum, voiced by Tom Baker of Dr Who fame, has recently been treated
for a dark and sinister addiction to food in the notorious "Institute
for the Culinarily Insane."
Dr
Onions, the head of the institute, has set Toms rehab programme
and the series begins as Tom endeavours to take control of the Diner,
surely the very place that a patient such as Tom should avoid.
Toms
work colleagues, the all-controlling, procacious Rita Frangipane,
and Morris Piper the melancholic teenager, have no idea about the
new bosss odd behaviour.
Bryan
and Helena work together on the animations. Helena comes up with
the ideas, dialogue and storyboards while Bryan does a lot of the
artwork.

Helena
said: "We both studied fine art but Bryan's quicker at drawing
than me."
Bryan
and Helena have children of their own and often show the sketches
and raw material to their children.
They
said that because even the raw animations are telling a story the
children still enjoy them.
