We
want to discover our county's greatest local hero.
From
the many trendsetters and highflyers who, over the years have had
links with Gloucestershire, we want to know the one iconic figure
you think deserves the title Local Hero.
They
could be famous people from history, showbiz stars, musicians or
sports personalities. They could be a respected member of the community
or even someone who has been a personal inspiration to YOU.
A panel
of judges will sift through your suggestions and names will go forward
to the West Country and/or Midlands finals.
The
chosen hero will then feature in a 40-minute documentary to be shown
on BBC ONE later in the spring.
Below,
we've listed a few ideas and some related links - you can either
choose one of these or suggest your own by filling in the form below.
Once
all the nominations are submitted, the panel will select one Gloucestershire
name to go forward to the final alongside nominations from Wiltshire,
Bristol, and Somerset
We'll
keep you updated with the progress of nominations - and who is finally
voted the West's Local Hero.
