Movie
actress and model Elizabeth Hurley brought some Hollywood glitz
to Cirencester by switching on its Christmas lights.

The
actress who recently moved to the area, was guest of honour at the
Cirencester Advent Market in the Market Square.
I've lived in a lot of countries across
the world, and a lot of towns, but I have to say there's not
a town in the world I'd rather live in than Cirencester.

Thousands
of people packed into the square to watch the Austin Powers and
Bedazzled star flick the switch.
The
actress looked stunning in a bright orange knee length coat, matching
dress and black knee high boots.
Taking
the microphone as she walked on stage Ms Hurley said: "I was unbelievably
honoured when I was asked to turn the lights on.

"Everyone
has been extremely kind to me and my family since I got here and
it's a real treat for me to be here to meet you."
The
actress turned on the lights and then posed with Santa before wishing
the people of Cirencester a happy Christmas.
She
was then presented with a bouquet of flowers and a large abacus
for her 19-month-old son Damian.
