This
romantic Tudor manor house at Uley, near Dursley,
is reputedly haunted by Margaret of Anjou, queen consort of Henry
VI.
She
appears as a 'lady in beautiful clothes' who drifts through the
rooms in the house.
Margaret
of Anjou was stayed at Owlpen Manor before the Battle of Tewkesbury,
the turning point in the Wars of the Roses in 1471 which brought
the House of York to the throne.
Margaret
of Anjou was then imprisoned and her son was killed.
Visitor
