Have Your Say

What do you think of the new Gloucestershire flag? Will you be flying one from your flag pole?

how much did the person or company get to design this flag its pants

I'm surprised the "loony left" didn't make us have a pink one. Mind you this one is pretty camp so it must be a kind of compromise. A St Georges Cross with a picture of the cheeseroll in one corner would make far more sense. When will these people ever learn!

i read the inscription for the flag and the yellow represents cotswold stone and the green rural areas in the cotswolds and forest. This is nonsense! what about the people who live in the county and what about the great Roman city at the heart of the county along with the regency town of cheltenham? whoever chose this flag should be embarrassed, lots of the childrens designs did a much better job of representing the whole county and the people in it, shame on you at Shire Hall

'Wishy washy'. It will fade very quickly. The colours need more substance.

Wouldn't look out of place wrapped around 1/2lb of butter. Take a look at Blakeney Schools' badge designed by 10 year olds, it's traditional and pictorially representative.

The green is far too pale, even insipid. It might have been an idea to put a few designs to Gloucestershire folk and ask for their views. No,I don't think I'll be flying one!

What a waste of Council Tax,where is Gloucester's coat of arms?Typical of Council Officials to spend our money on something to make themselves look good.

It's ok ,I guess, don't quite like the shade of green, but hey ho.A little bit suprised that something so important wasn't put to some sort of referendum. Still, who are we ?. Just residents.

Surely being a Gloucester flag, there would be some element of the rugby team in the colours??

Shouldn't it have been brown for the River Severn. I actually like the flag, but think the blue, if depicting water, should have been a paler blue.

Being a Gloucestershire bloke now living in Columbus, Ohio, I currently fly the Union flag outside my house for 6 months of the year, with the flag of St.George for the other 6 months. I am very impressed with the new Gloucestershire flag, and if I can get hold of one, it'll also be proudly flying outside my house.
