Christmas in Gloucester 2007

Have Your Say

Thoughts on the Gloucester Christmas lights? How do they compare to the Christmas lights near you?

little chris
I saw him playing pop in eastgate street. he looked like a quality player.

Mike Brimfy
Cheggers is truly our saviour and I'll readily go toe-to-toe in furtherance of this debate!

mohawk (madrid)
who is this Cheggers??? I hear of him everywhere i go in Gloucester these days. How did he make his millions?

Jamie Passmore
Interesting comment from darren dru. I saw the lead singer from a band called Demob drinking in Gloucester and I also saw someone who looked like Benny from Crossroads having a nap near the cathedral. Cheggers really has put our fine city on the map. Fair play to the organisers. Pat yourselves on the back!

felicity murkin
I had to take a cold shower when I got back that night. Cheggers coming was a real credit to the people of Gloucester.Very exciting times indeed

Daren Dru
It's so exciting that Cheggers has put our city on the map.I'm sure it's as a result of this I saw the famousest Big Brother housemate, Charlie, in Debenhams on Saturday. Soon you won't be able to move in the Kings Square area for high-calibre celebrities!

Bernie Aristotle
We are so lucky to have enjoyed the visitations of such a star. It was literally a great climax for me. They should give Cheggers the keys to our City. We love you Keith!

gary greenhouse (cheggers fan)
I don't think it was the real Cheggers more probably just a cheap lookalike. It would cost a fortune to get a real Cheggers, Cruise or Travolta and I can't see the council's budget stretching that far what with the floods and everything. He was quite convincing however.

CHEGGERS FAN
I was fortunate enough to be there when the mighty Cheggers graced our city. He had everyone in stitches with his sharp wit and repartee. I propose we give the man the key to our city and an MBE.

Sara Henessy-Jones
I missed the party unfortunately as I was away. It's a great shame really as I was a huge fan of Cheggers before I was posh. I wouldn't mind getting him under the mistletoe as it's been a while since I've had a bit of rough

Chloe
Its meant to be good at tewksbury. Thera re using FLOOD lights!!!!

Chloe
They are very bold and bright. I love coming down to do some late night shopping and seeing the lights!

Serina Tinkbaston
I think its marvellous that the legendary Cheggers turned on the lights - finally Gloucester is on the up!I may even do my christmas shopping there & not Cheltenham.

sarah
very beautiful by ross

Dr Foster
The toffs in Cirencester only had that arty type Llewellyn Bowen for their christmas do. The folk of Gloucester are the real winners. Cheggers is a true superstar and not a pansy dressed in a pair of second hand curtains. You' having a giraffe Ciren!

pc fool
Where was the ethnic representation? Last time I looked Cheggers was white and English. How offensive.

James Westall
I'm so glad Cheggers came to Gloucester. As a somewhat obsessive fan it made stalking so much easier with far tewer miles involved

David Kempster
Is is right to wheel out reformed alcoholics and let them turn on the lights? Do the organisers not realise that there were children likely to attend. I wouldn't let my girls go as I don't want them to turn into drunkards before they finish primary school. OUTRAGEOUS LIBERAL BEHAVIOUR!

Paul Bennett
Despite being the number one fan ( Gloucestershire Fan Club chairman and South-West events organiser) of Noel Edmonds. (We meet every 3rd Thursday in the reference library, Brunswick Rd., Glos by the way); I've always had a sneaking respect & admiration for Cheggers. That cheeky smile gets me every time. Shame I missed his local appearance, but it clashed with my fave program - 'Are you smarter than a 10 year old'. Thank you for visiting our humble city, Keith!

guy williams
Cheggers was one of my childhood heros. Each week my sister and I would eagerly await the weekly screening of the kids tv masterpiece 'Cheggers Plays Pop'. Congratulations and heartfelt thanks must go to the city council for getting a true comic genius to begin the festivities. I'm sure that celebrities of Chegger's calibre can't come cheap either. Well done!

Michael
