My recent run-ins with bands has made me realise what my summers lacking: a tour!!

So I've devised a plan to 'get me aboard the tour bus'. It's called 'Miriam on Tour'.

'Miriam on Tour' involves a weeks reporting road trip around the hedgerows and motorways of Gloucestershire to see local live and unsigned bands in action.

I aim to be present at and record interviews at a gig a night from Monday 25 August until Sunday 31 August.

My progress will be charted on the Blast section of this site and also on BBC Gloucestershire Introducing...

Update!

After a week of scouring pub boards, phone directories and obscure Gloucestershire search engines, my final line up for Miriam on Tour is complete.

  • Monday 25 August: The Daffodil, Cheltenham - Dave West and The Tim Ward Jazz trio.
  • Tuesday 26 August: Café Halcyon, Stroud - Gadjo.
  • Wednesday 27 August: Café Rene, Gloucester – Firetree.
  • Thursday 28 August: New Cross Inn – The Layers.
  • Friday 29 August: 2 Pigs – Folk Acoustic night.
  • Saturday 30 August: Ragged hedge Fair, Cirencester.
  • Sunday 31 August: Priory Inn, Tetbury - Benita Johnson.

Hey Mim! Nice to hear what ur up to.Erm, can't really think of any bands in particular, but come along to Stonehouse Court Hotel any weekend, and check out the wedding bands they have there.
