Mark's shed in Stroud

Gloucestershire's Best Shed

We've been hunting for Glouestershire's best shed as we celebrate the garden structure and everything it's loved for!

Sheds are being celebrated as one of the cornerstones of british culture.

The traditional shed found on allotments has been a second home for generations but now they come in all shapes and sizes.

Pub sheds, studios and even tardises can provide some private space for sheddies.

We had a number of calls from people around Gloucestershire who are proud of their own sheds:

As part of Shed Week, BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Mark Cummings searched for the county's best shed.

Mark Cummings 'shedcasting'

One of the top shed's submitted was that of Larry Thomas in Longlevens.

So, the final breakfast show of the week was presented by Mark, live from Larry's shed!

My husband, Graham, has the largest "shed" you could think of. It has the potential of being a 3-bedroomed 2 reception-room detached dwelling, but it is HIS shed! It was once the stables to our house a once-upon-a-time pub. Anything that gets broken in our house, be it a toaster, kettle, boiler etc it disappears across the road to this "shed" awaiting repair so as not to add to landfill! It needs to be seen!
