Gloucester RFC

Peter Richards

Spotlight: Peter Richards

We put the spotlight on Gloucester's England Scrum Half in our regular question and answer session.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Enthusiastic, frustrated and jovial.

What do you do on your day off?

I do pilates, go to the cinema, and play poker on the internet.

Who is the person in your position you admire most?

George Gregan, simply because he's been at the top of his game for so long.

What was your first hobby?

Rugby. I was dragged to Havant rugby club by my Dad when I was about four.

What's on your iPod?

Actually, there's a lot of my girlfriend's music on it, which is mostly dance stuff. From what I like, there some Metallica,  Pearl Jam and Guns 'n' Roses.

What word or phrase do you use the most?

Peter Richards (GETTY IMAGES)

I'm in between living in London and living in Gloucester. Gloucester people have their own phrases but because I'm in transition I don't think I really have one from either.

If you could swap places with another sports star, who would it be?

Donovan McNabb, the quarter back for the Philadelphia Eagles. I always loved American Football and I think I'd like to play over there in that sport.

Who would your dream date be?

Pamela Anderson. She's quite pretty.

What is your greatest extravagance?

When I was younger I liked to go out quite a lot.

Who was the last band or singer you saw live?

Kanye West in Cardiff. I went with three other guys from the squad. It was good fun.

What do you consider your finest achievement?

Up until this summer my ambition was to play for England. I've done that now and it was great to do so. Now, in the short term, I'd like to play in the World Cup. Outside of rugby, I'd like to have lots of lovely kids, settle down and be happy.

What single thing would improve your quality of life?

Money. It gives you choices, doesn't it?
