Getting around
The Festival gates open at 10am on Wednesday 22 June - make sure you don't go before then, as early arrivals will be moved on by the police.
Meeting up
If you're part of a group and you all want to do your own thing for a while, it's best to decide on a good meeting place. It's not usually a good idea to arrange to meet somewhere vague. You'll never see each other again if you're expecting to catch up 'just to the left of the Pyramid Stage'. Choose somewhere different, a little way from the centre of things.
If you've all got mobiles then great, but don't assume that you'll always get a signal at the Festival. If the signal's strong however - problem solved. Just remember to set it to vibrate, as you're not likely to hear the ring above the Chemical Brothers anyway!
Out and About
As it's not safe to leave valuables in your tent, why not leave them in the free lock-ups which are open 24 hours? If you have to take valuables with you, it's best to keep your cash in different places. Keep half in one zippable pocket and the other half in another. That way, even if you do lose some money, you definitely won't have lost it all. The bottom line is - if there's something you're not prepared to lose, don't bring it with you!
Information points
There are several info points at Glasto, and they can give you directions, maps, transport details, and local town and Festival info. They provide free rubbish bags, suncream and condoms. The only public payphones are at info points. If you get lost, you can leave a message at any of the info points.
Banks/cashpoints
Cashpoint facilities for all the major banks can be found in Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury.
There are always cashpoints around the site too - in the past they have been NatWest and link machines so you don't have to keep all your money as cash all the time. Beware of the long queues though! Well have more information on opening times and cashpoint locations nearer the festival date.
It's always a good idea to get cash with a friend for company and security. It's boring in those queues and who knows where your friends will be by the time you're at the front!
