 Rogues

Rogues are a band of three brothers and two other chaps, hailing variously from Harrow and Aberystwyth. They play jerky indie pop that's categorically rooted in 80s new wave aesthetics, prompting Zoo magazine to dub them "Foals in a terrific mood".

Only a month after their first gig, they played a live session for Radio 1's Steve Lamacq. They followed this up with a UK tour supporting Iglu and Hartly, before releasing their debut single Not So Pretty on the super cool 50 Bones label (home also to Little Boots, We Have Band and The Virgins).

Hello Mr Moderator. The BBC seems to be under the impression all we want to hear from new bands/artists are different shades of Indie music.

Not aimed at this band in particular, just that going through these new bands I'm disappointed by the lack of musical ambition and reluctance to take chance; an over-reverance for past musical genres.

I hear plenty of bands on Myspace who never see tha light of day and are at least trying to push musical boundaries rather than place safe with magpie-like music by numbers of the all-conquering Indie-Rock.

I don't expect this to be posted, this is a request those of you at the BBC to realise there are a significant number of us out here who want to be charmed by novelty and originality.

Cheers for at least showing some new acts on the website, pity I'm not seeing more comments.
