Maximo Park
Newcastle's Maximo Park will launch this year's festivities with a special Thursday afternoon performance at the new William Green area of the site. Those not lucky enough to catch this set will surely make their way to Saturday's Other stage for a blend of bounce and style from frontman Paul Smith and his post-punk cohorts.

Was at this gig - 16 AWESOME songs! Could watch Maximo perform all day long!! Didn't manage to see the first gig :( But made sure I was at the front for this one! Seen them four times now - amazing everytime.

The combination of music and lighting when you can see the sunset during Acrobat and Questing, Not Coasting is so powerful - sent shivers down my spine and a tear in a my eye.
I also loved the anarchy at the end, from a band not oft associated with being very rock 'n' roll! Just a shame the full set isn't up....

I would of given anything to have been at this gig, I watched it live and then again on multiscreen. Since then I have watched and re-watched the highlights on here of this amazing set. I great mix of old classics and songs from their new album. Great to hear Acrobat and my personal favourite, By The Monument. A truly awesome set!!!

Absolutely awesome set. I really need to see the park live again. Had a chance 3 times since the last time and something has stopped me from going each time. Next time i am going no matter what.

What an amazing set. Loved watching them on TV and on the internet, with that golden sunset beaming down on Paul Smith going crazy! Wish I could have been there to experience it all for myself. Seen them 3 times and looking forward to seeing them at Leeds Fest though, especially after seeing tham at Glasto :)

Paul and the Park were amazing...wish id been there...caught a glimpse on the highlights....roll on Leeds Fest in August...as they are gaurenteed to impress....

Maximo Park rocked Glastonbury! I'm so glad they were chosen to open the festival- they deserve it. The fact that they allowed their fans choose the set list shows just what an amazing band they are. Wish I could have been there to feel that atmoshere, but at least I'll be seeing them for a fourth time at Leeds Festival this year!! :D

Maximo Park rocked Glasto! so glad they opened the festival- they deserve it. The fact that they allowed their fans to choose the set list just shows how amazing they are and how much they really appreciate their fans. Wish I could have been there to experience the Glasto atmoshere, but at least I'll be seeig them for a fourth time at Leeds Festival this year!! :D

I am so jealous of everyone that saw the Glastonbury sets live, the highlights looked amazing. The sound was really powerful, especially for a festival show, and I imagine the whole set would have been brilliant. Saw a brief interview which mentioned the guitar (and key-tar) trashing at the end, would love to catch some footage of that!!

Unfortunatly I was not there, but like all good Park fans I watched it with eyes stuck on the TV. Awesome setlist, the fans know the good songs we all love them to play, so glad that they were there and other people can see what they do. Hope they are loads of new fans!!!!!! xxxx

Unfortuantly I wasn't there but like all good Park fans I was glued to the TV during it. Awesome set they played!! Absolutly gutted I missed it!! Loving the new album, they never let me down :)
