 Animal Collective

Animal Collective's 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion has shown the fluctuating Baltimore collective are no less potent as a trio following the temporary departure of Josh 'Deakin' Dibb. Vocal harmonies and lush samples remain to the fore as Panda Bear, Geologist and Avey Tare make their way to Pilton, for one of Saturday's must see performances.

Ahh I love Animal Collective so much, shame the BBC aren't giving much mention to the best band in the world right now, ah well Lilly Allen is on...

The coverage this year has been poor I think I'll rip my own ears off if they show the ting tings again. I'd love to see Animal Collective.

I've just listened to the whole set. Honestly it was one of the best things i've ever heard in my life. If this was a "must see performance from saturday" then why didn't the BBC show a minute of it? Disgrace. I got sick to death of watching The Doves. They even showed The Dead Weather, who were the second band to play on the stage Animal Collective HEADLINED! :@

Possibly the most orginal, creative, talented and BEST band at Glastonbury this year. This band is held in really high regards by the majority of music critics and obscure music fans alike. How there is no coverage for them here, i would like to know.

Truly brilliant performance - how the group who have released one of the best albums of the year have not been covered on TV is remarkable, considering the amount of commercial crap that is released these days.

I was lucky enough to be there and watch AC live. My favourites at glasto this year by a mile. They were excellent.

I agree with all the comments above. I was looking forward to seeing the performance so much on iplayer when i got home. I was gutted when i realised they had one track on BBC radio 6. What planet are the beeb on not recording the entire AC set?

I hope someone at the BBC is reading these comments. It's a disgrace that AC weren't on the TV. It was the best performance (in my opinion) at Glasto this year. I saw alot of the main headliners and plenty of other acts. AC's performance spanked all of them.

      I am enraged
(I just realised after sending my original post)

I was there and it was the highlight of the festival for me. Shame it wasn't recorded as video because the lightshow was fantastic (although AC didn't do a great deal on stage).

They were on at The Park, which to my knowledge isn't televised. It felt like the right kind of venue on the night. You could look down on the festival with AC in the background: pretty magical!

I heard the beeb sent 450 staff to glasto at a cost of £1.5m. Apparently they had 6 people employed just to strategically spread mud on Jo Whiley's designer wellies, and another 14 to style her hair so it looked like she'd be sleeping in a tent.

Would have been nice to see just a couple of AC tracks. Surely they could have taken a couple of people off hair duties, give them a camcorder and send them to the park stage for an hour.

Realistically though they can't record every show. Personally it just makes me more eager to see them live for myself.

Hey, BBC. They didn't play on Saturday as your intro blurb suggests. They played on the Friday.
