The National

The National

Brooklyn's The National have thrilled many in the years since the release of debut Alligator and 2007 follow up The Boxer. They brought the finer moments of these great albums to life to close proceedings on this year's John Peel stage.

Absolutely stunning end to the festival, such a brilliant performance from a brilliant band who I was seeing for the first time live. I'm sure the Verve were great but they don't really compare to the National.

Colin
Waited a long time to see them and they did not dissapoint

Peter Heather & daughter Lizzie
On Liz's advice eschewed the main stage "big names" for the John Peel Tent headline as we had enjoyed much there over Glasto w/e. Magnificent, moving...brilliant festival finale! So glad we were there with the discerning. Hope to follow them to larger stage next year.

Best band in the world at the moment. Best live band too. I've seen them four times already and I can't wait to see them again. I can't believe they don't get more media coverage. They are miles better than Coldplay, Editors and even REM. With more exposure they would be the biggest band in the world.

Tony Mac
Absolutely awesome, highlight of the festival, Ian Curtis reincarnated, The National are legends!

Pete
I watched this performance and it was utterly brilliant, have no regrets about missing The Verve.
