Laura Marling

Laura Marling

Reading chanteuse came to Glastonbury on the back of a tour of UK churches. The Park audience was treated to some of the finer moments from debut Alas I Cannot Swim and some fresh highlights from the 18 year old's songbook.

She and the Mystery Jets where the two best gigs of glastonbury 2008. I was in the front row, and t;here was often silence as the crowd listened to her beautiful voice. The set was topped off though, by a rubber ring thrown onstage, causing Laura to duck for cover mid-song. She laughed at her reaction before throwing the inflatable right back to the crowd, causing a collective cheer. She was my highlight of glastonbury, and if you get the chance to see her, do anything you can to get the ticket.

Absolutely amazing. This girl will make it big great songs, great lyrics, big talent and only 18. Only heard a few songs before this gig but she blew me away. A friend of mine watching with me reckons she is like a female damien rice!!
