what a superb ending to a wonderful Glastonbury

Danielle Fortier
Joan Baez was at her spine tingling best. Playing to a packed out acoutic tent at the end of one of the best Glastonbury's in recent years, she wowed the audience with her impecable voice, wit and grace.Particular highlights were the opening With God on Our Side, the inequitable Diamonds and Rust and a fantastic impression of Bob Dylan. Her rendition of Swing Low left more than a few hairs raised on the backs of necks and wet eyes in the giant marquee. She paid homage to that other legend of the 60s, Leonard Cohen, who has preceded her on the Pyramid Stage with a beautiful version on Suzanne. She left the crowd wanting more and was coaxed back on stage for a second encore by the crowd who refused to budge until they saw her again.A consumate performer, she was one of the highlight of the festival.
