Reggae icon brought singles Electric Avenue, I Don't Wanna Dance and Hope Jo'anna to Sunday evening's Jazz World stage.

As a teenager in the mid-seventies, Eddy Grant was part of the soundtrack to life, especially as lived in the village youth club discos! A singer who was pop enough to get the girls on the dance floor but also 'tough' enough to have his song covered by The Clash. Anyway, I've waited a LONG time to see the great man perform and when I finally did so (at Glastonbury's Jazz World Stage) it was in the company of my son, who's not much younger than I was way back then... The show was one of the absolute highlights for me with Eddy in fine voice, equal parts showbiz entertainer, wisecracking rudeboy and conscious orator. Eddy was obviously delighted to be there and his energy and joy were infectious. His South African band and backing singers were simply superb, delivering every song with power and authority. What was particularly special however was the audience itself. Jazz World always draws an eclectic, knowledgeable and enthusiastic crowd, but this particular gig seemed to draw the very best from the assembled masses, with folks of all ages, ethnicities (and dress codes!) singing and dancing rapturously in a spirit of love and unity. Which is surely what Glastonbury is supposed to be all about.

Eddy's Glastonbury set was brilliant - he had a huge crowd and everyone got into it, singing dancing and really enjoying his chilled vibe. Eddy himself was enjoying it so much he didn't want to get off stage and eventually the Glasto organisers had to pull the plug on him. Was the highlight of my Sunday at Glasto - definitely !

What can I say Mr Eddie Grant was sensational, I was blown away, not only with how fit he looked but also the way he worked the crowds. The songs were brilliant and what away too finish with "Give me hope Joanna". He should have Headline the main stage, but then I suppose we would'nt have felt all that loving he was sending out. Fantastic my best shout of the wK.

Well, Eddy Grant's performance was the highlight of Glastonbury for me. He lifted the crowd with his open happy style, the comic opera with "Mike" who was trying to get him to wind up his set (he was 15 minutes late on stage for some reason) and the sheer exuberance of a man now over 60, took me back to 1980 all over again. Magic!

This was one of the best performances I've ever seen in my life, I was soooo glad to be there! I was about 20 ft from the stage and I couldn't believe he was that close I just didn't want it to end - definitely the highlight of a brilliant festival for me.

I saw Eddy at Glastonbury - he was FAB! What an entertainer. He was obviously enjoying himself & had to be forced off the stage!! I used to listen to him a lot back in the 80's & he's still got it! In fact I've been out & bought his greatest hits on CD to replace my 'tape' version!

I saw Eddy at Glasto this year and what an experience it was! For me his set encapsulated what Glastonbury Festival is all about - joy, spontaneity, humour, spirituality, being together, celebrating diversity, the whole nine yards. He had everyone up and dancing, and it was such a natural high. I danced the entire set - and I want to say hi to those who danced with me!

it was the best gig of the festival for me. Eddy was fantastic. It was great that he was on the Jazz stage, so I could get right on the front row. I've wanted to see him for 27 years and he didn't disappoint. Absolutely fantastic! Thanks Eddie!! xx.
