This is a vigorous climber which the Royal Horticultural Society has given their prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) in recognition of its outstanding excellence. It has an arching habit, shiny, mid-green leaves and produces pale pink, double, highly scented flowers from summer through to autumn. It can tolerate a wide range of soils and is hardy enough to be grown on a shaded wall or in exposed positions. As a climbing rose, it is best pruned from late autumn to early spring. In the first two years after planting, remove only dead or diseased wood. From the third year onwards, prune the main shoots to within the designated area for growth and reduce sideshoots to three or four buds. Train the stems horizontally to encourage better flowering and to avoid bare areas at the bottom of the plant.
