Self-blanching and green celery varieties have removed a lot of the hard work involved in trenching, and made celery crops available from mid-summer onwards. Grown on the surface and producing pale, crisp sticks without any special treatment, 'Celebrity' is an early maturing variety. They are not hardy and should be harvested before heavy frosts. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it the Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
