The golden hop is a spectacular twining climber with bright gold foliage that remains attractive throughout summer it needs a sunny spot to develop its full colour - in shade it is light green. Use it to cover an arch or pergola, where its self twining habit means it does not need tying up. A herbaceous climber, best cut back every spring to ensure fresh new growth. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
