Phalaenopsis are epiphytic orchids with delightful, pink, white or purple flowers that are produced throughout the year. They have oval, grey-green leaves. An epiphyte is a plant that grows on another plant without taking food from it. So, grow them on a piece of bark with the aerial roots hanging out. They are warm growing orchids that require a humid atmosphere and bright, filtered light all year. Water freely, mist every day and feed once a month from spring to autumn. In winter, cut down the watering and keep the foliage dry.
