Bloody cranesbill

Geranium sanguineum is a charming British native wildflower, perfect for well behaved flowering ground cover their fine fresh green foliage making a good summer-long background for the mallow-like flowers. Grow under a very light canopy of well spaced shrubs or roses, among taller perennials in a cottage garden, or towards the front of a border. It is also ideal for wild gardens and on banks. Plants self seed gently, but this can give rise to some interesting mongrels where several geranium species are grown together.
