The Moso bamboo is a stunning sight with mature clumps of green and yellow canes topped with a canopy of leaves and reaching heights of six metres tall. In Japan and China this is the major edible and commercial species, the plants growing much more vigorously in their native climate, up to twenty metres tall. In a UK garden situation, the Moso takes up to 10 years to mature, this plant may become invasive and the rhizomatous spreading growth should be contained.
