'Kewensis' is a ground cover plant that grows into a sprawling evergreen mat. Similar to ivy, it spreads along the ground, rooting as it goes, until it reaches a vertical surface which it may also attempt to climb. Although it can be rather invasive if left unchecked, it's the ideal plant to cover awkward, shady ground. It does flower in the summer, but the flowers are small and inconspicuous. This plant grows in nearly all soil types and conditions, although it does best in drier, sandy soils such as those found in rockeries or around patios. It will tolerate sea spray and will also put up with low light levels.
