This shrub rose is sturdy and upright, reaching around 130cm. It produces evenly spaced and sweetly scented semi-double blooms. The buds start out as a deep claret, open to purple with beautiful yellow stamens and an ivory eye, and fade to mauve. As a shrub rose, it's best pruned in late-summer, after flowering has finished. Prune most stems lightly. To encourage young, vigorous growth, cut back a few of the oldest stems each year.
