This stunning variety bears luscious, rich crimson blooms at the end of April through the early weeks of May. Often two to three single, classic, tulip-shaped flowers appear on each slender stem. 'Havran' is a superb choice for any garden. It is best planted in clusters in a border or container, or scattered throughout the garden. Tulips will thrive in almost any type of soil where there is good drainage. The bulbs require a period of cold so plant before the first frost. This minimises the risk of attack from fungal diseases, such as tulip fire. Any bulbs that become infected with this disease are best thrown away and the ground they were planted in should not be used to grow tulips for several years.
