Native to Mexico, this dahlia species grows best in full sun to partial shade, and prefers a moist, well-draining light soil. It's a tuberous-rooted, herbaceous perennial ideal for mixed borders. The delicate, single pink-lilac flowers appear in late summer. This plant does not like to dry out, so be sure to water well. Unlike most dahlias, this species is fairly hardy in the UK.
