This elegant, self-supporting perennial is loved by bees and florists alike. Tapering spires of mauve flowers appear in July-August, and associate particularly well with grasses in prairie-style plantings. Situate plants in fertile, moist soil and mulch with compost or manure in spring. Plants can be rejuvenated by division at the start of the growing season.
