The French name is 'Cuisse de Nymph', meaning a nymph's thigh, a more graphic version than the very proper, English name, but they both get across the fresh pinkness of the flowers. A good contender for a cottage garden, it makes a large, sweet-scented shrub with grey-green leaves which starts branching out once it gets above shoulder height.
