Discovered in France in 1827, this roses makes a nicely scented, large, bright pink-flowering rose. The British call it 'Cristata', but the French say its fringed area, on the edge of the sepals, make it look like the kind of three-cornered hat worn during the Napoleonic era, hence their name. Use as a stand-alone feature in its own small bed in a lawn, or as part of a flowering hedge.
